Communications

Our Process

Creative direction and writing for digital and printed fold-out explaining how the Colorifix technology improves each step of the industrial dyeing process.

Colour Stories Booklet

Writing and Creative Direction for a growing print and digital booklet that follows each Colorifix pigment from start to finish. Each “color story” begins with the pigment’s source in nature, explains how it is bioengineered and scaled-up through Fermentation, and finishes with the final dyed fabric.

Brand Book

Strategy and Creative Direction for a print and digital brand book created in preparation for the company doubling in size in 2022. As the Colorifix team is spread across multiple different sites in the U.K. and Europe, this brand book acts as a welcome and an introduction to the company, capturing the technology, but also its origins, values, culture, and more. This brand book is mailed to new hires with a hand-written note a week before their start date.

Podcast

Included in the brand book, a bookmark links to the Colorifix Podcast— an internal resource to get to know the founders, learn more about what it's like to be on the team, and find the answers to questions like, "what even is synthetic biology?!"

Program Development

(Education & Training)

The Colorifix Creative Residency

Colorifix is interdisciplinary at its core; but the technology, and its applications, is primarily developed by scientists and other technical experts. As a company that is always looking to foster more collaboration and creativity, I led the development of a year-long Creative Residency to introduce design research methods and generally new, tactile ways of thinking and working together.

Ruth Lloyd is a design researcher focused on sustainable, circular, and regenerative systems of colour. Ruth is working with Colorifix to explore the creative potential of microbial dyes to create intentional patterning using both traditional and innovative printing processes.

R&D Internships

Managed recruitment and administration of three-month internships for PhD students looking to gain industry experience within one of our Research & Development teams.

Coloration Traineeship

Assisted in the development of the Coloration Traineeship— an 18+ role in which the candidate gains practical experience of operating a dye house while following an education path (equivalent to a U.K. undergraduate degree) leading to a recognized qualification in the textile industry.
